PC Gaming Alliance president expects effect of founding members’ departure to be minimal.Microsoft and Nvidia, two of the highest-profile members of the PC Gaming Alliance, have quit the organisation, according to PCGA president Matt Ployhar.Ployhar declined to give reasons for the firms departing, telling Big Download he would prefer to let Microsoft and Nvidia explain, which neither has done thusfar. Both firms were instrumental in the alliance’s creation in 2008.He does not expect the high-profile departures to negatively impact on the PCGA itself, and also explains that he is moving the alliance away from research and reporting to a more active role, helping developers, publishers and manufacturers make better games.In a post on his Intel blog, Ployhar writes: “Another thing we’ll be doing is creating a more technical-based advisory board that you'll all be hearing more about very soon. We're doing this to flesh out the PCGA's technical expertise while simultaneously addressing perceived gaps in membership.”Ployhar, a strategic planner at Intel who spent 13 years at Microsoft, was appointed to the PCGA presidency last December.
