Nel frattempo, c'è chi ha pensato (non Tecmo) a un ottimo accessorio per farvi sentire dei ninja veramente cazzuti.

• Playing as Ryu makes you feel like a super hero as he is nearly unstoppable, meaning you won’t die as nearly as much as in previous games.

 • Gone is every primary weapon save for Ryu’s single sword (You still have shurikens).

 • You are stuck with a non-upgradable sword and Ryu’s health regenerates after each battle, so health restoring items have been excised.

 • Ninpo has become a use it or lose it perk that powers up during each encounter.

 • Limb removal is gone.

 • Bosses are nowhere near as memorable or numerous as you’d expect from a Ninja Gaiden game.

Mah, non mi convince come recensione: tanti caratteri (più della metà dei quali spesi a parlare della trama, ma chissene?) per dire fondamentalmente che:

- ci sono troppe cutscene
- è troppo facile
- la telecamera balla troppo
- c'è una sola arma
- ci sono un sacco di nemici
- il sistema di puntamento è ballerino

Che non è poco, ma personalmente avrei gradito un po' più di ciccia... a un certo punto dice che il combattimento "sa di Dinasty Warriors", cioè c'è una sola combo da ripetere a oltranza contro nemici che muoiono dopo mezzo colpo? avrei preferito leggere un approfondimento su quest'aspetto, piuttosto che tanti blablabla da recensore inglese snob ("It has no consideration for its fans’ wants", ma che è, Altroconsumo?).

Non sto dicendo che il gioco è bellissimo eh, sarà pure una schifezza, ma le recensioni scritte così mi puzzano tanto di click bait (a partire ovviamente dal voto).

Scusa ma Ninja Gaiden ci aveva un po' abituato alla perfezione, poi sono arrivati col secondo e fortunatamente il terzo non è mai uscito

Resoconto delle prime recensioni uscite:

CVG: 8.0 - It's less hardcore than previous games, making solo play enjoyable, but the online mode is a misstep. Still, while it's not as accomplished as Bayonetta, it's the best Gaiden yet.

IGN: 3.0 - Ninja Gaiden 3 is a gash on the face of the franchise and one of the worst games the action genre has yet suffered. It has no consideration for its fans' wants or what a new audience may have enjoyed. It's a nightmare that's as easy as it is uninteresting, and it abandons what used to work for awful new ideas that don't work together. Under no circumstance should you ever waste your time on this self-indulgent and abysmal wreck.

OXM UK: 8 - Ninja Gaiden serves up some Hollywood setpieces with a rock-solid combat system. Forgive the hyperactive cameraman and choose the right difficulty, because the wrong one will ruin your game

OXM US: 8.0 - Given the rare and tumultuous circumstances that led to such turnover at Team Ninja, it's fair to wonder what Itagaki's Ninja Gaiden 3 would've been like. Still, this version of Ninja Gaiden 3 - the one created by Yosuke Hayashi and his crew - is what we get, and it deserves praise for being a great way an Xbox action fan can spend $60. It may not live up to the series' impossibly high standards, but it's still a gem in its own right.

Metro: 8/10 - An impressively courageous reboot that channels the hard-edged heart of the series while discarding its more antagonistic baggage.

VideoGamer: 5/10 - You can probably wring out a decent afternoon with Ninja Gaiden 3 providing you're not expecting it to be as good as its predecessors. There are the origins of a fast, exciting new combat system buried underneath all the mess, and the gorgeous animations and zippy takedowns provide an immediate buzz. Yet its problems vastly outweigh its positives, and it's hard to come away feeling anything other than disappointed. This was supposed to be a bold new beginning for the series, but ultimately Ninja Gaiden 3 feels like a false start.
